got my car back!!!!

I got my car back from having a core plug replaced last night. I decided to do my crank pully as the one I have on is warped and guess what the one I have is the wrong one.
Going to foxymk1's emporium very shortly to get a replacement done.

With your budget I'd strongly advise G60, its gonna be better than a 2l 16V and probably not that much harder. I know there's a bit of computer/ECU trickery involved (you'd need to wire in and run the Digifant ECU, etc, and re-chip it if you swap for a smaller diameter charger pulley). Start searching around for the engine, I can help you out with transport etc I'd love to see this one through!

My mystery heated seat which stopped working for no apparent reason between winters. And my engine could do with a steam clean….

Just let me know if you need any further ideas

G60 is 160bhp as standard, and remember its a supercharged motor so its not all peaky at the top of the rev range, it behaves like a 2.3 litre engine in torque etc. Easy to swap a smaller pulley and spin the supercharger quicker, 200bhp is easy with a pulley & chip.

oooooh a 200 bhp cabby I think I will need a bigger speedo as well as I don't reckon mine has enough mph on it  :dontknow: not that I would go up that far lol

forgot to mention before the new side strips that went on today and that the gear linkages need doing to give me 5 instead of 4

If you don't want 200bhp, may as well go for 16V, which means you can keep an 020 transmission instead of having to change to 02A (much less work - no need to install cable change stuff). You can keep the 020 with a G60 but they tend not to last too long, apparently.

hell no I want every little bit of that 200bhp all I was saying is that on a normal day driving into work I would be lucky to use more than about 10bhp on the journey I do BUT to be able to take it to a rolling road and see it work or the 1/4 strip at santa pod or just when sat alongside some muppet in a 1.3 corsa or pug who thinks bexause he has a K&N and a big bore exhaust on that he will leave me behind (not that he does now)

the main reason though is as I see it that the engine will run at lower revs to atain the same speeds as I currently do and surely lower revs means longer life for all parts concerned

The main reason should be its easier to drive, and more fun! My 16V is just right, its not built as a top end screamer but the power is lovely and progressive. And there's a warm feeling that you know you can outpace almost every car on the roads. I had a bit of fun on the way home, but once you KNOW you're fastest, you don't have to prove it all the time. On the way I diverted onto a convenient private test strip, it got up to 115mph and was still pulling nicely.

that warm fuzzy feeling is what I want you know the kind that scares the sh.t out off the cuddly toys on the telly. something that is discrete but when it goes you can feel the force
