Getting the MK1 going after about 3-4 months out.... advice?

Hi ladies and gents.  I'm getting the old MK1 started again after 3-4 months of it doing nothing.  Any advice on the approach to take or is it just jump in and turn it over?  :dontknow:

I would definitely put some fresh fuel in and then just fire it up!

I guess you could turn the engine over a few times by hand just to get things moving but I wouldnt bother myself. 4 months isnt that long

I left mine down in the valley for winter when I didn't have snow tyres once season. It needed jump starting since I hadn't disconnected the battery, and if you have an MFA, there's a sequence you *might* need to get it displaying properly again (I forget what the sequence is now, but I think I found it on the Club GTI website).

The only other thing I needed to do was feather the brakes as they had some surface rust going on.

Took my battery out so should be good that side of things… hmmmm MFA piece may need a bit of thought  :?

Oh the MFA should be fine then! It's only jump-starting that seems to (only sometimes*) cause the display to to haywire.

*I may have left the radio and/or headlights on overnight a few times to know
