gaydon embarrassment

It's getting closer and I'm thinking how embarrassing it will be turning up in Evie aka the blue banger….she has never looked fantastic but now she is looking seriously bad! She's having a respray, engine swop, brake upgrade, change to manual & new interior the week after in a massive overhaul but right now she looks horrendous! She's filthy, the carpets are gross & generally filled with child-related junk. On the outside she has more holes than a sieve and on the back no badges, just blobs of weld!

I'm sure no-one can beat this but is anyone else going to feel like hanging their head in shame?

I think all mk1's in what ever state are worth seeing as next time you see them they usually have changed and that is half the fun of going to shows seeing the changes on cars…

NEVER be embarrassed in a Mk1 - even with the shiniest examples all around you.

At the NEC last year I had a "project" car and it received a surprising amount of attention.

At least she'll be able to go! mine's now off the road   but only myself to blame! so I'll also be turning up in a VR6

besides, a Mk1 with rust and/or dents isn't battered or run down, it's just got character
