*Good* is determined by how much you spend. If you take out the glass, seats, carpet, rubbers, trim, bumpers off etc yourself, then you will save money. I did that and mine is going to cost around £2000 for what I'm hoping will be a quality finish. Ask to pay in cash, and although you think the car is solid, they will find bit that need filling and welding. I would say account for £2500.

Had mine done 2 years ago, the car was a bare shell, it cost me £1200 cash.

It was a very, very nice finish in Montego Black.

Always good to go on recommendations, like the other posts if you can remove as much from the car as poss will reduce the price,as well as finding any hidden rust. Like on the rear suspension tops under interior etc i reckon £2000 ish not including engine bay ? only an opinion mind. We paid less but did not have interior bits done  :)

yes you guys are correct 2-2.5 k would get a nice job,as long as all trims were removed and some one was presented with a bare (ish) shell...its always best to do a bare metal repaint so the body shop and the customer gets a fair chance at getting a job that lasts....remember you pay for what you get,it takes alot of time to get the car ready to paint with all the prep work needed, and prob.only takes a hour to colour up....good luck and its a pitty you were not closer to norfolk as i would love to do it for you..jamie.

If the car just needs flatting and painting i cant see why the paintwork would cost 2.5k? ive painted a few cars in the past, no big deal if its just a flat and spray job. windows don't need to be removed, electrical wwire behind the front rubber flanges and taped will do the job.

Yeah i agree if you want it to look like a pigs ear dosnt matter how meticulas you are with the old massking tape there will always be bits here and there that get missed.  It depend on how much of a perfectionist you are,how much your willing to spend, and the compny/sprayer you use
