Fuel Filler Neck

Does anyone make them? I have a 1992 cabriolet and even though mine is fine, I would like one to hand as they are obselete.

I am a draughtsman who works with a measuring company, so if anyone has a rotten fuel filler neck I will be able to re measure and draw on CAD the filler neck and have one made, either from stainless or galvanised steel. What do people think of that idea?

So if there is anyone with a rotten fuel filler neck (*especially for a '92 cabrio!!!) can I buy it off you?? If you would like me to re manufacture one for you to your own material requirements let me know and I will price up the job. I dont think it would cost alot, maybe match the NOS available?

Hi bud, ive got a 1992 K plate cabby

I was fortunate enough to find some guy through here around 6 months ago selling a genuine brand new VAG item so snapped it up, however i think crazy quiffs etc are doing a stainless one now, but they are a fair few quid!

The tin top one can be used, but think the petrol cap dosnt sit properly as they are slightly different to the cabby ones.

Im having my new fuel filler neck fitted this week while it is in the garage, so as long as they dont chuck old one, as long as you pay for postage i am happy to send my old one up for you to use as a template.

i have a 88 cab and had same prob with filler neck, i purchased a tin top one and then just cut the top 12 inch or so then connected it to old bottom section that was ok with same type of rubber pipe that connects the pipe to the tank, the tin top one is not quite the same at bottom as well as top so this was easier, hope it passes mot next wk with it don't see why not.

I had the tin top put on my 91 cab by Pedders & it ran sweet as a nut & passed its mot with it on
