Rare as poop mate and people KNOW! I found a bargain for the solid one at £15 posted to me but expect to pay £25-40 for one  , for a piece if plastic.

Are they on all mk1 golfs?.all I've ever had is gtis

Not sure bud, don't think they are. 

My Gti didn't come with them.

There's a set of 2 on German eBay just now.

There was only supposed to be one  blanking plate on the offside, not the nearside. The nearside recess was supposed to be kept clear as that's where the air intake tube gets its air from. Just mentioning this as you don't need two of them to be original.

Thanks for that I thought I had one missing so took the one it had on off but can put in on again
