FOCUS ST ORANGE PAINT JOB ..... HOW MUCH???????

thats just the paint and clear-coats

high maintenance colour too. already aware of this from the st forums when researching colour. no chance of a touch up if damaged. would never match the original application.

so, custom colour it is then…
based around a nice retro Fiat orange with a pearl flip.  

Just looks like plain Stabilo orange to me.

How much would you save if you went down Stationery Box and bought a bumper pack of highlighters.

Ive heard this from st owners too! mrs bigdaves cousin had one a couple of years ago in that "special" orange and was scared to drive it incase he scratched the paint work!

*EDIT* Just a thought, but didnt lexus do the same thing wth ALL their cars up until about 5 years ago? paint, hand mixed in the factory and impossible to match perfectly without a full respray?!

Can be repaired quite easily if you use PPG as they do it in a standard 2 coat pearl, you just need to use the right colour primer underneath it.

Take a look at this transporter I repainted all the corner of the bumper after 5TH Gear scraped it!!

The bodyshops just dont like the look of it but it can be done fairly easily!!

my orange paint job cost me the grand total of ?36!!  Yup thats right ?36 only - hows that for beating the credit crunch!

After another coat and some cut and polish its a hell of a lot shiny-er now!!  wahoo rollers rule!

so very nearly plumbed for that lambo orange too!!!!
we were gonna put a purple pearl over it.

ive just come from the shop and the inside is finished.
settled on that fiat orange with twin coat on blueish pearl
my mate will get the outer done over the weekend, he's done a sterling body rebuild and finish.
total cost is coming in at about ?1600 but worth every last penny.
