far out colour concept cabby opinions?

far out colour concept cabby opinions please.
i have a mk1 mars red cabby with late tin top style bumpers and gti spoiler and arches. lowered but no excessively its currently running snowflae wheels and a standard  grey wollen style interior which is very nice but a nightmare to keep clean and rather…. standard.

what i'm thinking is fitting green and black mk3 colour concept leather seats in her with matching back seats and a few highlights in the door cards and gear stick gator. externally i was going to fit bbs rims with polished lips and matching green centres.

i thought this would look awesome my wife disagrees! what do you guys thing?

p.s dont need tech advise on fitting mk3 interior and its difficulties just opinions on colour etc.

………let the debate begin.

My opinion only of course : I wouldn't class red and green as a good mix. Be interesting to see a Photoshop though, but I can't do it either!
Generally I'd say yellow/gold, black or white are the only REALLY compatible colours with bright red. Whether any of those look good on a car though is a different matter. As always though : your car, your call!

Listen to your wife - women are always right.

Personally I think it sounds horrendous. It sounds like something you would have done to a Nova 20 years ago.

Its your car though so it doesn't really matter what other people think if you and your wife can live with it.  :D

Sorry, the green doesn't do it for me either I'm afraid!

Liking littlerolf's black and white suggestion, that could look good with the red.

But, as JackieJ says, it's your car so its your opinion that counts at the end of the day  8)

Oh it's a lime green is it? Wasn't sure. I was thinking it would be more mid green. Would certainly be a striking mix of colours! Too striking for most folk to appreciate though I suspect.   Red and green just aren't very compatible. If the car was another colour (probably not blue though) it could probably work a lot better?

Have a look on the DubFreeze website. find the gallery of past years and look at the orange cabby for 'far out'… do you want to go that far????

if you mean the boxy body kitted mk1 with a metal flake orange paint job and 18in chrome wheels then no not even close i like standard with a bit of personalisation i'm a dubber not a boy racer i just fancied the idea of a splash of colour to make it a bit different whilst still keeping it essentially as she should be. with period correct bbs ra's and vw interior bodywise she would stay essentialy standard just ering more towards a tin top gti in styling.

For anyone wondering what the seats are like see this colour concept on ebay

I don't think it would work tbh Dan, I'd look out for some other seats - perhaps some black/grey recaro's from another manufacturer. There was a nice set for sale on E38 from a Mitsi Evo that would work in a red cabby.

I like your OEM style thinking, but it needs to be more subtle and easy on the eye to work!

a decision has been made i bought the seats but won't be doing matching wheels i will then be getting the green panel, leather dyed black. i couldn't resist the idea of a bargain set of heater leather vag seats.
