Engine Identification - AGAIN!!!!
Sorry if this has been answered a million times, but I'll be darned if I can find anything on this site to identify the engine in my Golf
What I do know is that it is a 1991, carb, cabriolet. But I think these were available as either 1.6 or 1.8's, yes? The only engine number I can see, stamped onto the head is 026.103.373.Q
I come from an aircooled background and with those there's plenty of info to identify the engine, but this doesn't seem to be the case with the newer water cooled cars???
So, is this a 1.6 or a 1.8 and what should the power be? This is not for "bragging rights" down the pub, but I need to buy a few parts and with splugs for example, there are versions quoted for 1.6 68-73hp, 1.8 96hp, 1.8 88hp and 1.8 109hp - all for the correct year.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!

The first X is a filler character and the next two letters are the engine code - EX
EX is a 1.8 carb as fitted to Golf Clipper, some Mk2 Scirocco and some Mk2 Golf/Jetta too, I think.
