Its a scam I'm sure. No body pays that much for a gearnob, and tbf they haven't been obsolete for that long, they were still on the citi's up until a year or so before they stopped them.

The pic doesn't look like it's n.o.s either

I agree it's mad how much this went for but I do think it is genuine nos, the rubber / plastic is fresh and untouched not glossy and cracked   like it would be after 25/30 years of use.

We'll have to wait and see what kind of feedback he gets and if he hangs around on ebay for long.

Why is the seller a nob? He seems to be about £145 up on the deal. If its a genuine buyer, then it is he who is the fool here. Also, it doesn't cost £15 to post an item that small!!!!! Mind you having said that, its a good chance its a shill bid or multiple accounts, etc bumping the price up.

Are they still available from vw then?

Does anyone know the part number for these gear knobs?

it's from mexico hence the postage seems overly cheap to me.

I didn't mean he was a nob because he's made money, I mean that photo would appear to be one he's taken of a good knob and is pretending to have a load of n.o.s knobs. If it's n.o.s wheres the vw bag?

Therefore HE is a nob for scamming people.

If it was in a bag I'd believe it a bit more.

Presuming for a second that the mexican guy is genuine then this guy offering the gearknob for buy it now  @ £100 is the scammer as he says it came of a low mileage car yet he is using the mexican guys photo of a brand new gearknob.

exactly juan, thats the point I feel. One way or another i recon they need reporting as they're all using the same pic.

The Mexican guy could well have got hold of a big bag of them who knows really, time will tell with this one!

These gear knobs might be available from classic parts like alot of other things that people say are rare and obsolete yet are still available.

Does anyone know the part number for this gear knob so that I can check??
