Doninton park - 10th feb track action. - disc pics added

Im off to Donny this sunday (10th) all being well, to give the mk1 a proper good run, and see just how fast it is now its lost some more wieght and had a little more tweakage on the engine.

is anyone else up for some fun?  :twisted:

I'm leaving sheffield in the morning and heading past, might be tempted to swing past with my big camera and zoom lense then…. Is it free for spectators???
I dont think they'd let my diesel Caddy van blast round, as much as it would be funny..

The missus would love a passenger ride with anyone, she's been a brollybabe there a coupel of times but never been the track, any ideas if anyone could take a passenger for a lap or 3   :dontknow:  :dontknow:    

yep me and becca are there all day, it free for all nutters who want to watch.

as for rides, its normally ?20 for passangers but if we can sneak her in im sure becca wouldnt mind giving up her seat for a few goes.

as for the caddy… why not? I nearly ran my esate round lst time… lol I may still do one session in it this time!

I've driven and ridden it a few times, had a load of great pictures of bikes n cars there before pc blew up    

I'll defo stop off mate and meet up with you, will PM you my number..

If someone will take her on track she'll happily pay the ?20, will she need her Crash helmet?

I'll make sure I've got all my memory cards and get some good photos of you out there as well…

on the helmet from if you have your own that would be easier. a motorbike one is fine.

Im all booked now, trailers sorted too thanks to Beccas unc.  also I James sent me a text sayin his MK1 is now set up so it looks like there will be atleast 2 mk1s flying round on sunday  8)

a MASSIVE thanks to Steve and Wendy for taking the time out to pop along and say hello, and also extra thanks to Steve for being my personal photographer for the day,  ops:  i feel spechaul….

The day was MINT! there was 20 cars tops! so we had open pitlane!!!!! BONUS!!!!!  :mrgreen:  Borris proved him self very well, playing with the big boys, the new manifold has made a big differance on track. soo much more power up the top end, and with the centre box removed he now makes a very nice bark too (he was way to quiet last time)

the only down side is I have now had to admit defeat and accept that I just have way too much grip for the brakes, I changed from stock boggo pads, to Mintex normal pads and i killes them in 100 miles road use and then by lunch they were 1/2 gone or so, but not too bad…I was doing 8  - 10 laps and then coming in as they were cooking, but after 3 more lots in the afternoon I suddenly got a odd noise on brakes so nursed it back to the pits, got the wheel off…………..no pad AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!! oh well.

all in all I got 90 miles worth of track millage or there abouts, so I cant grumble too much. I just now need to descided if to try race pads andstick with my discs (the look ok…one little mark from the lack of pad but not too bad) and then look at a cold air feed to the too, or do i bite the bullet and go 280s… better but more cost..oh hum.

I have some footage from the day, Ill try and get it off the camera and online as soon as i can.

Just to echo what Karl said, was a great day
And Boris was awwwwshum loadsssss of fun! Apart from smelling a bit hot and burn-y a lot of the time

discs look useable, some light marking but you could stick them stariht on and have no worries or even get them refaced.

but to prevent any more "issues" im going to go a bit bigger….well 280 actually.. so it im going to be running 15s so i may as well  :twisted: ill see how late i can brake after that
