do you know any of these cars?

would really love to find some of my old cars to see if they are still going and if any of them may be for sale?! below are  small selection of my previous mk1 golfs, i would hope some of these will still be knocking about… any ideas anyone?

1.1c A717DGU - this car is wrote off by slamming it up a kerb and cracking the chassic  :embarrassed: someone from Scotland bought it and had it transported up there. They bought it without interior because i sold the bucket seats seperately. Would love to know if it ever got back on the road as DVLA state it was taxed last year.





1.3 Driver A935AEC - had white paint thrown up the bonnet. Hope its still going, this was a garage find that i spent a lot of money getting back on the road. DVLA state its taxed until 2013.



1.5 RMV620X a car bought as a shell, originally a 1.1 but we put a 1.5 rebuilt engine in it. My sister unfortunately did it some damage driving it down the A1 in 3rd gear and sold it to someone cheap. It needed painting so I dont know if its still blue. DVLA state it is taxed until 2013 and its still registered as a Blue 1.1!




1.8 gti G751AVC not sure what happened to this as I left it with an ex when I went to work abroad for the summer and he had got rid of it when I returned. Im told he may of snapped the front axle so not sure if it was scrapped. was last taxed 2009   :cry:

Hey Shelly.

The white Golf is mine, I was just drifting around the site when I came across your page, as soon as I opened it I recognised you not the car…  I still remember you crying as I drove her away…  Guess you loved her ehe.

She now lives in Kent because I don't have a garage in London.

I did quite a bit of work on her straight away, new 13" Minilites lo pro, with coil overs, new gti interior, then took her to two shows over 2-3 years, then she was mothballed in the garage for another 4-5 years, I was inspired to get her out again about 3 months ago.

Tomorrow in fact I am heading down to fit 15" BBS RS, got new dice dust caps, new wheel arches, just picked up a wolfsberg steering wheel, its all just started happening again.

Me and my mate, he's gotta  white caddy, we're going to start going to shows again nest year.

What are you driving these days?

was i crying?!   wonder why i sold it, cant remember now, as far as i remember it was always a reliable car. did it have a rust patch in the A pillar?

Think it was about 9 years ago i sold it now!
I have a mk3 2.0 cabrio these days. i would love another mk1 but they are so expensive now. saying that though ive just spent £900 in the last 4 weeks doing the gearbox, clutch, belts and pulleys on the mk3!

Yes the rust on the A pillar was repaired yesterday, I had a day of it, fitted new Wolfsburg steering wheel and adjusted the coil overs and put the BBS on, see the attached pic.

Still a way to go but have be doing some bits on her then put her away for a few years, but I am trying to keep her out now.

yea even rust buckets are ££ these days, decent parts are so expensive as well on ebay.

I had a MK4 golf turbo a few years ago, loved that.

I bought the black write off golf A717DGU from you in 2002ish I think, repaired it in my dads garage and had it as my first car when I passed my test in 2004, was a great wee car. I sold it to a friend who then sold it on to someone else and he did a 1.8 conversion on it, used to see it on the road regular through the summer but not seen it in probably 10years now
