desperate need for small block alternator

hi
i am after a small block alternator for my driver as its my daily.
if anyone has one within 20 miles of rugby that would be perfect
if not would pay for it to be posted

anyone?

Got one from a polo 6n or Polo coupe 1.3 if there any good to you. Do some research.

Did you manage to get an alternator? I ask because by the time you finish paying postage for an alternator it might be worth the extra few £ for a new one. I have just fitted a new Bosch one today, it was £81. I know not everyone has that cash available but I couldn't risk a second hand one because mine is a daily driver like yours. GSF should be able to order one for next day. I hope you get your mk1 back on the road soon and I hope this helps. regards, Paul.

i havent as of yet, i wish i could afford that im 17 in full time education and only on £4 an hour on a saturday (which sucks) i need to find one thats about £25 maximum

Have you thought about just changing the regulator on the alternator? its possible that it is just that at fault and they are less than £20. its a 10 minute job to fit it. You cold have had my old alternator if I didnt have to give it back as an exchange unit. Look on GSF website or Euro car parts and search for alternator regulator. the only trouble with this is its not 100% guaranteed to fix the problem and it is difficult to get the right one as your car might not have the original alternator still on the vehicle. I will keep my eyes peeled and let you know if I see anything.
