Colour coded sill on early cabby?!

I'm touching up some areas on Gertie n was going to do the sills too.  Was wondering what they'd look like colour coded; people must've done it before but I can't find any pics of it.  Any thoughts are welcome :)

Yeah they were/are black.  Was just wondering if colour coded (helios blue in my case) would look good…although I'm currently in a battle with the sill clips…n they're winning at the mo!

if your gonna do it used coloured stone chip or stone chip with paint on top otherwise it'll be covered in stonechips in no time.

Ruddy good point that Russ.  Totally didn't think.  Hmmmm, think I'll stick with a fresh coat of black for now.  Did you get the motor in the end?  Oh and what saab 900 is it you have?  Drove an '84 900 turbo for a weekend the other week, perfect motorway car :)

As said, they were black as opposed to body colour.

IF, you're thinking about spraying them a stone chip texture BE CAREFUL.

I've got mine in for resto at the moment and the bodyshop have put a fresh stonechip covering on and it's reacted with the old stuff!  :banghead:  only on my car!!!

The stuff I used previously was in a red spray tin, can't remember the name at present but it wiped off the arches with thinners.

Just a thought.

Cheers Dano.  Well all the bodywork stuff I'm doing at the mo is a temporary fix more to stop future corrosion.  So the waxoyl paint will be coming out for now by the sounds of it.
