coilovers

hi all

just got me some 13" alleycats for the mk1 and now looking at getting some coilovers. was looking fo some that would be low but resonable comfortable aswell.
money is kinda tight as being a student so need a reasonably cheap set.
seen some hottuning ones but didnt no if they were any good?
and also seen these Venom Motorsport Performance Car Parts - EBC Brakes, Black Diamond Brakes, FK Suspension, Eibach Suspension, Weitec Suspension, Supersport Suspension (sorry bout the long link lol)

cant really see much else arond this price range but which ones would you maybe recomend?

thanks in advance

Firstly, If your going for low profile tyres on the 13s, your going to have to really low to make it look good. And any coilovers will be uncomfortable really low. Also, you'll hit everything on the road.
Secondly, I wouldnt recommend hottunings if you want a good ride. If you want to go really low cheaply, then i would recommend them.

Same with anything really, you get what you pay for.

Cant comment on the Jom ones, as i've never had them.

Lea is right, however if you are patient you might pick up a used FK or KW set off ebay.  I have had a cheap set and i really didn't think it was worth it.  Don't get me wrong i'm not just after a good ride, i have been down the cut springs road in the past on cars so i know and have driven with sh.. suspension :D .  But the cheap sets are pretty rough…

I've had good sets and cheap sets, not much difference for everyday driving - may daily has got the hot tuning coilies on with TA Technix internals (not the old raceland ones they used to sell)

But I'm selling a set of coilies in parts for sale, fairly cheap - I know they are KW or Fk's but cant remember which, just waiting for the guy i got thm off to get back to me..

they give a good ride, bit bouncy, but not a harsh bounce - and I got them pretty much as low as they'll go with 15" RA's fitted…

let me know if interested and if you come collect I'll even give you hand fitting them

Just put a set of JOM on mine, I'd have gone FK but the budget is streched quite enough at this time.
I didnt expect them to be fantastic at fifty quid a corner but they're actually pretty good.
Had FK on my corrado and the golfs only a touch bouncier, however the corrado does weigh as much as the moon.

i'm running a set of hottunning collies on 13x7s and its sat on its arse (about 60mm from road to sump!)

they are a hard ride, but not as hard as you might think.

as said before you get what you pay for, hottunning are the cheapest the i've seen new. they might break your back though. :D
you just gotta avoid certain roads, speed bumps etc…
