Classic ols skool looking cd player !!

Looking for a good looking all black old skool cd player to fit right at home in a sportline any recommendations ?? I know these hundreds out there but any recommendations and even pics of how they look would be much appreciated……Cheers

8 track is what ya need, or a real naff cassette player..

I guess you'd probably be looking for a basic pioneer/blaupunktmodel, hardly does much, V basic buttons and display, I think i might have one in my loft, will have a look over next few days

What is the verdict on something like this ?

To me that looks like something you'd get as standard in a vauxhall..

Is that the kind of look yor going for?

I bought i think its called a ' pioneer 915rds ' in 1990 for 920.00. still got it! will send you a pic, was very cool then and expensive..

i`ve just bought a sportline and looking for a 90`s stereo as well,if your going for the 90`s feel it could/should be a pull out stereo…   i`m looking for an alpine unit as thats what i use to have back in the day…!!!

how are they old school?
both look like something from a corsa. (no offence to corsa's honest)
i've got an old pioneer 6 disc somewhere that looks genuinly 90's old school chic.

I 'pimped' the one in my old clipper heres a picture!



It was a sony with original black buttons and a silver face looked aweful! so i stripped it and sprayed it matt black!

I had one of those Blaupunkt head units in that link. I thought it look a little less modern than some of the naff silver stuff and a little less 'plasticy'

I thought it looked okay with the chrome trim and with the fact I had a crome stripe dash surround. The plastic they use is matte and the buttons are nice and chunky.

You could change the colour to any setting but it was only the colour of the LCD screen, the buttons stayed blue. I matched it to the green colour of the dash lighting (how sad am I)

Long story short it got half inched and now I've got something which looks modern but does the job.

I too was looking for an old school type CD player. The sony was the one from new and it is very hard to find good one. Tried a few from e-bay but they were broken when received.
Also you need to make sure you have the wiring connector as if you get one without the lead it can prove hard and expensive to get one.
I got a new up to dtae sony with bluetooth works and looks a treat. :wink:

I really want this but i aint got no tapes to play on it!

The sportline came with a Blaupunkt "Hamburg"  cassete player back in the day iirc……

I have an old very early 90`s Pioneer cassete head unit with multi changer that i took out of my Corrado


I dont see the point in looking for a stereo when you dont even have a car though

or even bother to reply when someone mails you details you requested of one for sale……..my sportlines sold now anyway  let it go for 2k

Cassettes also look ok. I've got this one in my car
