Calling all Mk1 Car Bra owners!
Right just bought a 2nd hand bonnet bra off ebay  , think it's made by Autobra? Anyway, fitted it and drove to work today only to discover that it flaps around a bit in the middle :eh: . I was hoping to hear and see how you seasoned bra wearers have secured yours and if you to have similar problems.
A pic of how you have attatched underneath the bonnet would be fab, cheers

yes only use occasionally and on't leave it on sitting still in the sun or rain. On my mk4 there is four straps the middle two if tight enough should stop the flapping. May be different to your's as mine is a mk4 r-line bra.

mines from autobra and had it on a year now and not had any problems.
However i do keep car in garage, i also take it off everytime i wash the car to make sure no lines, or discrepencies in paint are left underneath it.
BOUCHAY - i do get a bit of flapping in the middle but only over about 70 ish (obviously thats when im on a private road) :-)
Here's some pics of mine fitted, i make sure the 2 side straps are tightened as much as they can be, then hook the metal hooks at end of straps round bonnet hinges, then on the middle you should have a another stap and hook where you can adjust it and hook hook onto underside of bonnet, hope that makes sense
Pics to follow, cant get onto photobucket :-(
but they are on my build thred:

what's the hooped bits for? carrying your pool cue??
IMHO it looks daft and better without…my car is 27 years old and has no chips where a "bra" would go.

How often do you get spoken to by the police over the number/letter layout on your number plate? It looks great but don't want to shell out on one and get pulled up the first run out.
By the way, I quite like the bra, and now you can carry two Mr Freeze ice pops with you when you cruise in the sun…handy.
keep the faith, don't submit to bra haters..

I love bras, but I much prefer what's under them.

Here's the video of the flap:
Steady on. This is a family Forum.
I haven't seen a Mk1 car bra, but I've been in the car with others and they have never been tight. I'd say that's normal.
