Cabby shelter!

Can anyone advise where I can purchase a fitted car cover for my mk1 cabriolet that can handle all weather and not smash my paint work?

Cheers

I'm moving house and I will have my garage taken from me so need the cab under wraps for the winter. Seen a few on flea bay but unsure what are most ideal.

Any ideas anyone? For the love of a dub.

I've bought a medium sealey cover for mine, fit well and seems ok.

I think it was about £40 delivered.  It did blow off but I've secured it with bungee cords and its now secure!!

Its got a zip for the drivers door as well, which is handy.

I'll take a pic tomorrow if you want?

That would be great if you could. Where did you purchase that?

Yea the idea of a tent is more ideal as you can work on the car whilst under wraps.

The folding garage is great looking thing and I've always quite fancied one but could never bring myself to blow that kind of dough on one!!

I bought one of these for my Elf a few years ago..

It worked well until we had a big storm and ended up like this..

Heh heh!!

My cabbys Green, that could be an utterly wrong name!!

Actually reminds me of a school story(25 years ago), a mate claimed to have 'pleasured' himself and what came out was green!!

For what it's worth,
I bought from a club member a 'Moltex Cover'. New, never out of it's case.
Fitted it this morning and it fits like a glove.

Had it on in seconds.
What I like about it is that its not to tight and the material inside (I think there's 5 layers) is softer than a Babies bum!
It has elastic corners a bit like a bed sheet and goes down to only expose the bottom third of the wheels and tires.

Time will tell but I have a good feeling about it.
Mind you my car is in an old garage and not standing outside. Although the cover is for all weathers.

Hope it helps!

Mike.

Its not much to look at. Just snapped this on my phone before checking all the car was covered and tightening the straps.
The cover is still heavily creased from it's packaging.
It has two adjustable belly straps that you sling under the car, plus four elastic corners.

I'm no expert but it looks well made, strong stitching and of good quality material but time will tell!
Final point is that it's quite heavy which suggest it's strong and should last many years.

I'm very happy with it.  :D

Seems just the job. Mine will need to be an all weather and also ventilated so the car doesn't grow mouldy. Hopefully I will have a garage soon depending on my house situation.

FYI
This one is all weather (waterproof) and breathable.
I should have taken another picture after I'd pulled it down tighter but to be honest I just forgot.

Good luck with the House and Garage!
