cabby security

last night mrs bigdave decided that she wants a floppy top. She thinks she wants a mk1 but says she likes the beetle cabs too. Ive just about convinced her that a mk1 would be lots more fun. But now shes worried that its too easy to break into a floppy and people will keep slashing the roof!

Is she just being a pillock? How often does it really happen?

no different to any other car, leave soemthing in their that theives want and they'll try and get it no matter what

Leave nothing on display and nothing to worry about

when i had my floppy if i ever went anywhere that looked dodggy, I just left the roof down anyways, prooving nothing on show to nick

our slogan is

Leave it on show…. Expect it to go.

Nver had problems with mine, no difference realyy between a mk1 golf cabby and a 04 plate m3 cabby! in fairness yes you could do the roof quite easily but it would be so much easier to nock a window in!

If someone wants to steal something and they are that low they will anyway, there is no difference between a hard top and floppy.

Apart from vandalizing w#%&*@s that think it's funny to stick a stanley straight through your roof for a laugh because they have nothing better to do than to go round making decent, hardworking people miserable and they parents don't care because they are to busy getting at the pub with the money we so kindly give to them just for the pleasure of it all!!

The only time i have had any problems was when i left 2 Berghaus jackets worth ?400 in the back and guess what they went and roof slashed but thats my fault and to add insult id left the boot open with a Stanley knife in the there too all i needed to have done to finish the job was to sell them for the theif down the local pub

Dont ask what your club can do for you, but what can you do for your club?

Yep! This happened to me in less than a month after getting a new mohair roof. It snowed the next day, which actually was better than rain, as it sealed frozen, no drips, until I was able to clear the snow off it the next day and drive it to a repairer who did a great job (still not the same though).

I love having an engine disabler that is NOT attached to a keyfob. A hidden button inside my car means I leave the lid down a lot more often on this Golf than the last one (which had a broken keyfob for the alarm/disabler).

Hmm, isn't the New Beetle kind of like a Mark 4 with a different shell? She really should just get one of those - they're lovely!

There bloody horrid!

*Edit*
I'll expand on that a bit:

They have all style, grace and finesse of a boob shaped breeze block!

Ferraris have more practical back seats.

and they look like a startled frog!!
