Having ran my car for a couple of years without bumpers, I've put them back on now. I think it looks better with. Also, you tend to worry less about parking, etc.

Remember if you remove them, you need to sort out the front indicators. I used little side repeaters from a Rover 200 and some simple brackets, but needed a parallel resistor to control the flash rate down; and also they were only 5W instead of the normal 21W or whatever it is. So I was constantly worried that people wouldn't see my indications etc. Got through the MoT fine though. If you fit larger indicators with the proper wattage bulb, they are big and look ugly (IMHO). I couldn't find alternate bulbs, or small indicators of the higher wattage.

Remounting the front plate is the easy part!

i cable tied the original indicators behind the grille and it flew through the m.o.t - total cost 80p (4 cable ties) and it took about 5 mins to do.

I think it makes a difference on what overall look you want to achieve.

My personal opinion is that i'm not a fan of the de-bumpered look, but I also think that it suits the racer look. On an everyday car it makes it look like it needs something there to break up all that space, yet on the racer look you can get away with it by having huge flared arches and a race inspired paint job.

It's like looking at someone with no mouth!
