Bonnet bras

These seem to be quite popular at present. i know there meant for motorsport and all that malarkey, but, well, is it just me or does anyone else think there proper naff?   :sick:

Got one for the mk2 2 year back, What a waste of time mate, once fitted, sat collecting dust

I can see them being handy for new/show cars during transit.  But they should be taken off when not used for this.  ~Ugly~

Think it was generally decided they are a waste of time and can cause too much damage to the bonnet in the long run

They do collect alot of dust over a dry period, and rubbish when it rains, and this washes the dust underneath.  I had one on a beetle and they are far more trouble than they are worth.  I settled for a clear 3M film for our new beetle (few years ago)to protect the Vulnerable spots (bonnet, Front of rear wheel arches).  You get it specially fitted,  Its not like clear fablon or anything that thin.  This will take a large impact without any damage to the paint underneath.  Alot of M3 CSL have it done (apparently) due to the thin coat of paint applied to the car.  Just on the bumper, wing edges and front lip of the bonnet.
