Blank Keys

What should an original Golf Key look like for an 89 Clipper?  I saw some on ebay with a metal VW logo withing a black head, so thought they were original, as mine has a plastic key head with VW moulded in.
I ordered a new key from the dealer, thinking I was going to get the metal type and a plastic one like I already have was issued to me, that says WTO on the blade and old key says AH.
Which one is the holy grail?

My keys are the metal vw type with the black surround,

the AH is the key form, iirc and im not sure whet the wto is?

the 2nd is the same as the spare key for my mk4 (without the immob bit). count yourself lucky it only cost ?6! last time i ordered one they wanted ?60 for the key and something daft like ?50 for coding it!!

1st one is all of what mine have been, inc mk2.

ok....so does anyone have any OE blanks with metal VW ?

Also got the key cut at Timpson's for free, they don't charge if they don't supply the key?

Anyone know if you can get the blade / flip out style VAG keys for the mk1??

I'd like to have posh keys like everyone else as well as the best looking car.

have a search on here, i think peddersgolf was looking into this a while ago.

there are a few guides on how to do it online, and also a company who provide it ready made with the AH key blank (i think)
