Billy Ocean's mk1

My wife was just telling me that Billy Ocean (80's singer, some of you will remember Carabean Queen etc) was on a chat show lunchtime telling them he still drives the mk1 golf he bought 20 years ago.

So if you hear his song "get out of my dreams, get into my car" you now know what car he was singing about.

He really is 80's cool then! 8)

i'm now searching for that song to play in the car…

i dont care what car he was singing about that song is still one of my faves that i play all the time in my cabby!
about 20 years ago my dad borrowed a cabby off a mate to go to birmingham. best journey of my life and i was hooked! i knew i would sometime get a mk1, didn't know it would take so long but it was worth the wait.
and yep you guessed it lionel was on tape playing all the way. 8)

:?  whatever he was singing/trying to sing about…………its a poor song to be playing in any car! let alone one that the noise can be subjected to others at traffic lights!! Billy Ocean needs to be dropped off in the Atlantic!!

i think of mk1 lovers as an elite breed.not everyone in this whole wide world likes them only the special few. :cheer:

 yeah and Billy Ocean is one thing from the 80`s that deffinately should be forgotten and put on the scrap heap!! :roll:  mk1 or not! his style of music has been far outdone by the little car from the same era!!

anyway it sounds like hes singing "GOANDGETSTUFFED" in one of songs
