8" I feel are too wide on a Mk1..I had 7.5" on the fronts of mine….You need to change the front dishes for 1.5" and run a 195/45 or if you need more stretch,go for the 185/45..Hope this helps..

yeah i have read some people feel that way. i like the way they look even if the steering is a little heavy lol :/. the problem with 185/45 is there isnt many options ive only found nankang ones. and im not sure on performance when tyres are streched that much?. Adam

I like the stretch look but not mad as some people have…One rule I have is to use branded tyres, and importantly that the more stretch you have ,the less contact with the road…My friend had 165/50 on a 7" rim and it looked silly from behind and he had very little grip ,more so in the rain.
If you want to stick with that width all round i'd recommend 195/45 as you still have enough tread in contact with the road and looks ok…..

This was mine when it had 7.5" all round with 195/45

im the same mate. realistically i wanted to put proxies on 195/45. im just worried about spending loads of money on them and still having rubbing issues. looks like a lovely motor mate. good work.

Trust me,2 things you never scrimp on are tyres and brakes….Its worth spending the little extra for the Toyo's plus i doubt if there is much difference between price on them and budget tyres.
