Back Lights stoped by the police

I was stoped by the police last night as they said my back lights are to bright   cn i get diffrent bulbs or will i need to change my lights. Got to get a stamp from a MOT centre to say i have done it.

Glad to see there is no crime for them to be sorting.

Thanks Neil

if they are E marked and the bulbs are E marked too and are of the correct wattage then so long as they do not show white to the rear you are fine.

I'm surprised they didn't stop you for the rear number plate though - it doesn't have any letters or numbers on it!

As long as i can get lower watt bulbs thats ok and i hope the MOT place will not charge me for a stamp :banghead: . It made me laugh when he compared the heat comming from my lights to his ?50,000 Unmarked BMW police cars lights (only for there to be no diffrence).

Sidelights are 5w you can get 21watt bulbs that will fit the holders !

Thats like running around with Fog lights or brake lights on , maybe thats what you have ?

Or you have the bulb in the wrong way round   :dontknow:

you will be better off running the coloured bulbs or even the multi L.E.D versions, i got some in my standard cabby lamps and they light up really well and the brake lights come on really bright and instantly, you can get the osram silver orange flash indicator bulbs, as the yellow led ones require a resistor inline in the wire to work properly in that circuit

Could they have pulled you for any other reason? You did say it was an unmarked car.

Or could he just be looking for something when he pulled you over?

Please note this is not a broad comment about law enforcement officers or police in general, I am merely supposing there may be some other unmentioned factor to these circumstances.

Yradave says relax.

He was dealing with a car that had gone of the road and into a hedge. I was unlucky that i went past as they had just finished putting it on a transporter.
