I think with the adapters they will cause problems with fouling the arches ( adding ET :dontknow: ) but ive seen quite a few MK1s rolling on 4 stud 17"s

Yeah 4 to 5 stud adapters are basically a bodge, I've not seen a safe/decently engineered way to do it yet, short of re-engineering the hub or re-engineering the wheels to be 4 studs. Basically, however you lay out the adapter, 2 of the holes are too close for comfort.

but if the adapters are gona cause the wheels to stick out and foul arches then that could be an issue ……
how do you work it, as when i was looking at putting porsche wheels on, one on the guys on the site explained it to me as …
If the porsche wheels had an offset of 52.3 and then i used 20mm thick converters it would be 52.3 - 20 = offset of 32.3
is that right, and if so, if the tt wheels already have an offset of what i require, what will it mean the wheels get pushed out towards the edge of the arches more ?
just wanted to do something different ….
