Another Honda mk1
Noticed the green Type R mk1 is up for sale again on Ebay, then came across this VTech mk1:

Just seems like a lot of work to me :?
You can get VW engines that make the same power and must be easier to install.

I admit does seam like a lot of hard work but at least its different, how many times can we look at a 16v conversion or 20V T and be shocked. Honda engines are fantastic and reliable and I personally cant see the problem.
I suppose some people are a little more hardcore than others.

I've no particular issues with non-VW engines in a Mk1 Golf in itself. The thing is, there's plenty of VW engines which will happily make 160bhp or more. And the costs of the Honda conversion if spent on a rebuild + (say, 2.0l 16) conversion, would result in a similar level of reliability. When you spend many thousands on an engine conversion, you can't really say you're doing it because its a more fuel efficient engine.
So, its a bit of an anomoly, but an interesting technical exercise in itself. Kinda different for the sake of it.
If I were to spend lots of money on an engine conversion, I'd choose the biggest engine I reckon I could fit into the bay!
