Almost thought about selling her!

I almost thought about selling the old girl today (The MK1 not the wife - although some days). I took her out for a blast in to town and all is forgiven. What was I thinking? I have had her since 1996 and has never missed a beat!

I drive about 30,000 miles a year in new, comfy, quiet sterile diesel cars and just 30 mins in the MK1 today restored my love of driving. Long live the MK1!!!

I remember my 1st mk1 golf.....it used to be parked up for a while and I thought of selling her a few times.....but as soon as I opened the garage.........there she was waiting....waggling her rear wiper at me.........near ten years later ... I still got her.

I regularly think about selling my Mk1, but i just cant bring myself to do it.
I'm sure as soon as the conversion is finished and i've driven it i'll be totally in love again! took it off the road for a year for an easy conversion and now 5 years later and alot of ££££'s spent with alot more to go really gets me down….. Must carry on though!

Hang in there, mk1's are always worth it.

I remember my first Mk1,a Black Gti 1.6.
I drove it on a test drive
My mate drove it to my house and then i scrapped it!
These days the rust that it had would definitely be worth fixing though.
I have a picture of my mate angle grinding the roof off :-)

I regret selling my 2nd 1.1 wish i had never.....

Well I do not need to say anything as 25 years on and i'm still "lovin' it !!!!!"…….

My saying is that a "Mk1 is for life and not for Christmas "…End of….
