alloys

i have alloys on my autocab and wud like advice and info, they are the same as pictured by autocabs post in "the which colour hood" thread. but mine are white detailed. the white is pefect but the laquer is comin off the bear metal. are these og spec, wot are they worth and wots your advice for reconin them? thanks for any advice  :dontknow:

Re furb i did, lots of hard graft but worth it.

They're worth ?50/set of 4, I know this because I sold a set for that much! They weren't refurbished, not bad either tho and all the tyres were okay.

wow autocab! they look ace, mine are in a worse state than yours but i willing to put work in. whats process? my mate says just sand paper and re laquer, but that sounds to easy.....

well funny enough at the moment im refurbing some alloys , think they came on the corrado…

but anyways give me a few weeks and ill do a post of how i did it..

Strip with nitromors for a start, dont leave on to long though, it takes off about 2 layers of laquer per coat.Wire wool and wet and dry startin with course then gradually moving to fine grade this is the longest part then wire wool and loads of autosol and get polishing, then mask off the polished spokes and spray the inserts and laquer them if you want, i didnt strip the inserts with n/mors just the spokes then remove the masking tape and polish with wire wool and autosol again , you CANNOT laquer the polished spokes at all it will not stick but laquer the inserts whilst tape is still on, It took me about a week to do all four.Give me a shout if you need anymore advice. :D
