ABF OR 9A

Hi all

Need a bit of advice. Im currently building a mk1 golf driver and im not 100% sure what the difference is between the 9A engine and the ABF. I no 1 has 150bhp and the other 135bhp or something like that.
What I want to no, is the 1 stronger than the other and which would be easier and less stressful to drop into the mk1?????

Thanks

9A is a LITTLE bit easier but there's really not that much in it. 9A is 136bhp stock but this is due to the mild inlet cam, once this is changed then 150bhp is easily achievable. Strength? The ABF is likely to be a little newer than the 9A so would be in better condition - but also likely to be a bit more expensive to buy.

if youre building a mk1 driver, then neither of those engines came in it

(or such is my understanding)

so aren't you just building a golf?
