a woman crash into side of nice mark 1

Hello Guys
I own a 1981 mars red golf gti. very orginal. A Woman has dented the passenger door and rear quarter of it.
I am asking can you still get new rear quaters and from where. I personally dont know the value of my Golf but am worred that the insurance company will rite it off. I own my golf for three years and spent quite a lot of money on it.
Does anyone have any recommendtions or ideas about Rear quater panels and doors.
I would really appriecate your comments as I love my mark 1 even tho am a very poor student.

bad news - insurance will write it off.

good news - you can buy panels from funk-star,crazyquiff, BBT and various other places.  If you claim on you insurance you'll have to put it through a test to confirm it's road worthy (you have the option to buy it back from your insurance company).

i presume you are not in this country, and i'm not sure how your insurers are over there,

but i think the best thing to do is have a ver kind work with the man/woman who comes out to look at the damage. and explain how much the car means to you

Provided it doesn't get written off you'll have a bit of a waiting game to get a NOS full rear quarter panel, they do come up now and again on ebay (perhaps more often on ebay.de). You could cut the section from a donor car?

Doors are easier to get hold of.

Thanks for the messages guys  I am from Staffordshire. A VW specailts called PSI are going help me but am hoping for the best :-)
