a little something i have noticed
put your headlights, fan and wipers on without the keys in and pull main beam and see what happens 8)
does it on my mate's '90 mk2 as well
pretty weird, might not do it on all, would imagine so if it does it on a 7 year newer mk2 as well. unless we just have bodged wiring

…something to do with keeping the windscreen clear and demisted in certain situations (…can't think what for…) without having the ignition circuit switched on and not running the engine….
Owning a Mk1 cabby is a vertical learning curve…

i was down at my mate's unit and drove in with the lights on, must have left the heater and wipers on when i switched the ignition off.
then must have started flashing the lights at my mate in his mk2 when he drove in?
reckon you could bump start the car holding main beam on?

this is a guess but, would they do it because you have a perm feed to the flash relay and the feed from that goes to the heater etc. don't see the logic in it though I am off to try mine now and listen to see what clicks…..really would like to know if this was by design or accident!

Guys, you think this is weird??
Try opening your driver's door doing over 40mph with your seatbelt off, shortly before pulling the handbrake up and steering wheel to the left (180 degrees) simultaneously….
same thing happens in every car I've tried it in…
go on, I'll wait….
