a little advice needed

hi all, Just signed up to this tonight…busy doing a resto and need some advice on two issues….Firstly, the bulkhead panel just below the scuttle has been removed but i now need to reposition the wiper mech mounting bracket….Does anyone have a photo of position of the new bracket?
Also, The driver side engine mount for the 1.1 has been removed to move for an abf lump….Does this mount fit further back or do I need a mount from a gti shell?!

hi thinke the engine mount is the same as a gti and same position and dont think u need a mount for the wipers as the two main nuts are strong enough even with a mk2 motor upgrade there is a guy doing a abf conversion on here i think he seems to now his stuff look in projects forum and look for lukey babes project he sould have bothe the answers in his thread

The engine mount is the same but its moved further up the chassey leg towards the strut. Pic shows a small block 1.3 mount. There is a notch in the bottom of the mount in the middle, you have to move it up to the indent in the leg and reweld it so the notch lines up with the indent also you have to extend the bottom of the mount to make it longer. Im sure theres a page which shows you better what has to be done if you search club gti.

I've put a line through the middle of the mount and the indent to show you roughly where you have to move it to.

You've gotta move it up and flip it inwards.

Dunno about the wiper mount but as the lad said it would proberely be strong enough i'll take a pic of how mines mounts tommorow and post it for you :wink:
