3 point rear belts in a cabby

I know there has been a lot of different posts about this topic and people have sold their cabrio's due to only having lap belts in the rear.

There are child seats available that work on lap belt rather than traditional 3 point, does anybody use this method ?

Crazy quiff has his rear seatbelt conversion brackets, has anyone fitted these?

Mk3 rear cab seat belts have been mentioned but there is limited mounting positions in the boot and a little DIY considering it's our childrens lifes at stake !!!

Please can I have your views, sensible ones please

I have a child seat that works with a lap belt it's really secure.

Which child seat have you got, how old are your kids ?

My littleanddaft is 4 and ive been looking at these but mine is only used now and then especially with daughter in the car usually she goes in the front and mrs has to go in the back.

I've got 3 young kids and this is just my thoughts but personally only take one at a time in the front so have the ability to thread the car seat correctly. I did try one of the kids seats in the back just using the lap belts and tbh could pull the top forward so much that it is not a good idea. I'm not sure on other designs but unless they hold the person/seat back I can't see them being usefull. I really don't have to take the kids about in the golf as have other cars but if I wanted to I would look at the crazzy quiffs set up.

It's not our only car it is the wife's fun car however we do have 2 kids 3.5 and 18 months. I would put the younger one in the front but the wife may want to take both kids so need a solution for the little lad.

There is a proper car seat specialist nearby. Going to take the car down there and see what he recommends.
