1st Mk1, 1st day if working on it!

Well what a day. I bought my Mk1 caddy two weeks ago, it's in ok order but it my only car so have to keep it on the road while doing it.

Had the poxy oil buzzer going off so this was top of todays list. Had all the checks done so can only be an electical fault so finally had a crack at taking the clocks out and having a go at the buzzer. Got the clocks back in and only the speedo is working. Haha that will teach me. Planned to get new clocks anyway!! Well at least the buzzer is not going off!

With no speakers in door when I bought it this was a must. What fun and games with the speaker wire!! Anyhow, got them in, put the radio in. All working well until I put the roof up now the now the radio just flashes at me and the dodgey central locking does not work!

However, I have had success with converting the air induction kit or lack of one that was on it in to a good little system very cosr effectively. Lack of money till the end of the month but needed to address these things.

Never done anything like this!

Yeah this is a bit of a learning curve. Even the stereo is confusing me now. Bloody thing works with the ignition on but not when you start the engine!

Dont ask what your club can do for you, but what can you do for your club?

Cheers. Am a little worried that may have damaged something as had to loosen the back on the speedometer side to get to the oil warning buzzer. Will give it another go next weekend.

Sorted my car stereo now thank god!
