020 gearbox + G60

I posted in the modification section but it's dead so will try in here.

Basically i'm doing a G60 conversion and want to go the easier option of keeping the 020 box.

Will an 020 handle the G60 if I have the diff bolted and a beefier clutch??

A good mate of mine ran his 16vG60 Mk1 with a mk1 GTi box

He'd done the diff bolt conversion and sorted the bearings and seals, he also had a lsd fitted and it just about put 264bhp down.

So yeah, so long as you give the box a good overhaul and pay attention to the well known weak spots you should be ok

It's exactly what i'm doing with mine, exept i'm starting with a late 16v box and i'll be sorting all the weak points first!

I have an 020 box on mine with a BAM engine tuned to 260 bhp, the box has been in the car for 5 years with no problems (peloquin LSD fitted) uprated clutch an idea though
