>STOLEN! Mk1 Golf GTi Sportline 15th April J35 HMM<

I had my MK1 Golf Sportline stolen off the driveway of my flat in Swansea on Friday 15th April 2011.
The registration is J35 HMM.

A witness saw 2 white males aged 20 - 25 (aprox) Towing the car away at about 12pm midday.

The car is black, lowered on coil overs, it has 13" ATS classics fitted (7"front and 8" rear) with continental tyres and the standard sportline Recaro interior.
I have spent a fortune on it with new mohair roof, rebuilt engine with piper cam etc.

There is not much chance of getting the car back complete but if anyone  area knows of a black sportline being broken for spares it could well be mine.

I am not sure how to put photos on here but I have plenty and would recognise it anywhere.

Really gutted for you matey.. All I can offer is words of sympathy.. It's quite a rare car so keep looking on eBay for sportlime parts. The recaro interiors are always popular on the odd occasion that they do come up.. Google photo bucket and set up an account.. It's free and you can upload pic from there straight onto here so we can all see what we are looking out for.. Chin up matey

Thanks for the advice I have added a couple of pictures now. I will try and find some pictures of the interior.
I would have thought it would be worth more in bits than as a whole. It is probably in a barn somewhere being broken right now!

I'm from Swansea (not seen your car though!) so will keep my ear to the ground.

Very sorry to hear that your sportline got stolen - if it comes accross the water I will keep an eye to the for sale section/forums/web here etc

You're probably right it will most likely be being broken imho, keep your eyes out on the various forums and also ebay. You would think the item location would be reasonably close.

Can't beleive that they have the bare faced cheek just to tow it mid day…. kinda makes all alarms /steering locks mute, kinda scary really.

It does naff you off, putting so much time and money into a car you love for some scum bag to come and just take it. Completely no respect! I worked hard to buy it. Why can't they!

I have owned the car for 6 years and it has every MOT from new (apart from 1997) and my friend and I drove around Europe in it a couple of years back. It was a big head turner in Monaco. Everyone had Ferraris and Bentleys but we were the only ones in a MK1. Great times.

The car was immobilised but the alarm had been playing up. They must have known that to tow it away.

I will be keeping an eye on ebay as I have seen sportline interiors going for good money on there.

No the car is a 1992 Black VW Golf Sportline convertible. 1.8 8 valve.


Engine has been completely rebuilt with piper cam and pulley, janspeen manifold, 2 ltr throttle body etc and 13" ATS Classic wheels with 195 45 13" continental tyres. If someone has just got a set of these wheels they wouldn't go unnoticed.  

The engine could be dismantled and sold seperately!


Only a complete scum bag messes with another mans motor. Take the girl friend I can replace her!

i feel for you mate id be like a lost puppy without mine! such a shame to see a sportline taken more so! are the police doing anything about it? surely its quite a easy car to look out for! A$$ holes!! honestly!!!

they must be local and in with people you know for them to know alarm not working and you not home for them to risk taking it in broad day light.this is why they should bring back hanging you dont mess with another mans mk1(even the hairdresser model)sorry to hear it mate would be gutted if mine went hope you get car back and addresses of scumbags who took her.
