'92 Clipper - Info requested! (See pics)

Hi all,

below are some pics of my '92 clipper.  Excuse the quality but it's chucking it down.  I have service history for it but no owner's manuals or any tech pubs.

I understand that this was near the last of the Mk1 shaped cabbys and I'm guesing it has Mk2 engine etc…?? But not sure!!  Any guidance gratefully received?

Things to do..

new roof (and seals!!)
sort out lowering kit previously fitted - think it needs better springs
new pipe - any recommendations?
perhaps combined with webers and K&N

G'day all

Mac

It will be one of the last versions of clipper made, but not the last of the mk1`s, the Rivage and Sportline gtis have that honour 8)
If its a carbatooter   version then it will be a mk1 coded engine, not sure what the last carb engine version code was personally, of the very very last sportlines and rivage a small number did get a mk3 diggi injection engine as they were built after the catalytic converter laws came into force.
i see yours does have the Le castalet Rivage forged alloys on though which is a nice touch as the late clippers all came with very basic and plain steel wheels.
as for exhausts its hard to find a late cabrio version in after market stuff as the rear box has 3 hangers on not just one and they are in slightly different places, you could get one made up but they cost a fortune for little return, i just put a replacement Ernst version on my sportline recently and its fine, before i fitted it i highly polished the tailpipe with meguiars metal polish and fine grade metal paper, it gleams like stainless now 8)

Thanks fellah,

I'll get the engine No off it tomorow and do some more digging.  Were the Rivage models injected?  (Mines carb'd).

The GTI Rivages were. They also came with heated seats, electric windows in the front and a hydraulic roof. There's a really good guide to the different models and stuff in here:
