I have the DVD of this episode and its a riot My friends and I were shouting at the TV.. problem is Mr.Brewer doesnt know enough about the subject matter.. "Bodge ups using parts from crashed cars..are to be avoided" Then goes to buy parts from a breakers to do it up?! "Armor door plates are good idea"! Spot welded slam panels?  "Red insert in the bumpers and black spoiler decal down side that says GTI" Does he not know that hes thinking of a MK2???? He also says the brakes are bad as they are revved hard? Not a mention of cross linkages. He missed the wrong door pulls and wrong front spoiler and gets told its cheaper to swap the tailgate as the black surround is rare and hard to get

Why has no'one mentioned those hideous centre caps to the P slot alloys? How hard could it possibly be to paint them silver? They looked absolutely awful! The car just looked like a bodge from start to finish! I think I would have much rather bought it in its original condition and done it myself! I was gutted…Couldn't believe what I was seeing!  :x

Was awfull. has any one seen his new programme, 'Auto Trader'?

Used to like wheeler dealers where Ed did all the work and Mike would sell the end product allowing them to break even at best.

Even more cringe making were the 'deals', done on 'deals on wheels', I recall Mike bought an escort at auction using all his car dealing skills and after various 'wheeler dealing', broke even, or the time he travelled to Germany to buy an M3 and having brought it back, sold it and Broke even…(if you haven't seen the prog I think you get the jist),the list is endless.

Awfull yet strangely compelling.

Series is entertaining, but Brewer hasn't got a clue  . Saw a wheeler dealer the other night on the BMW 6 series in which he bought a 'bargain' 6 series for ?2000 to do up, surely with his expert knowledge he could have found cheaper one than that :dontknow: . As he was bragging about how great the car was a camera shot showed the exhaust puffing some blue smoke  :banghead:

Have you got the link Hairyarse?

I only caught the last couple of seconds of the interview on stage as I was drooling over AC Cobras at the time

the wheeler dealers mk1 ended up in the west midlands around 99/2000  as my mate had it.    said it was as rotten as a carrot but drove really nice,  bodywork was rough though, he eventually sold it on with a set of le-castalettes (spelling?)  for less than 1k

I had the (mis)fortune of meeting mike brewer last year he came into my workplace to film a show,he honestly does love the MK1 and thinks its the best car of a generation,so you cant slate him for that.
