Mk1 Golf cabriolets appearances in films

As they are a cult classic they are in many films, I watched "Fun With Dick and Jane" the other week and much to my surpirse Jim Carey was driving one at the end!-Needless to say I went out smiling! So on my car domain page, I decided to dedicate a page to cabriolets spotted in films, there are still many I need to include, (I have a long list!) its just getting time to take the pictures!! :-)

P.S I know car domain is a modifing website, but there are still many original cars featured - my cabby isn't overly modified, just slightly lowered with some Estoril alloys-as Mk1 Golfs are spot on already! :-)

its not a rag top.
 but there is a MK1 Rabbit in Con-Air.
 its a black beauty!
 but the chap who owns it decides to steal the vette stingray parked next to him instead of using his golf!

 FOOL!

 although a sting ray would look nice on the drive next to my golf! 8)

Yeah i couldnt beileve it either, was so good to see, nice yellow one. Me& my GF also went out smiling lots, really cheered me up.

Well of course! :-) "Licence to drive" is an eighties classic! :-) Whatever happened to Haim and Feldman?! All the eighties films are great and many of them have cabbies in them, which is always a bonus!! ;-)

Impressed you spotted the one loaded up with stuff in 'Independance Day', it was only on screen for a fraction of a second!!

Lots of air time for the red one in 'Shallow Hal' though. 8)

hase anyone seen ID a bbc film from the 80s witch is on dvd now, that had a mk1 cab i think it was an all white model too

Yeah I remember that BBC film I think its called The Firm  the Cab is a Coco Chanel and it gets ragged all over a football pitch!!!

There is a BBC film called The Firm which has a CC in it!

Hi Julia, no theres a fair bit of it! think its red. im not certain tho, there is a load of girls in it, the older sisters friends. its when they drop her off/pick her up at her house of a camping trip or something. im suprised u have seen the film!

thought of a couple more too, there are glimpses in 'a fish called wanda' and 'american warewolf in london'- i think. do tin tops count?
