I know one of them's an 80 page advert for The Phirm, if you take your car there and give them a blank cheque, it will probably make it into the mag at some point.

On a more serious note, I think they attend shows, etc and seek out the owners of the cars they like the look of and directly approach them. ie if you have to ask, your car isn't good enough….

i do buy both mags ther sometimes do like normal peoples cars if thats the right way to put it. i kno they do seem to concentrate on high end custom jobs.

IMO the golf+ mag feature more people cars ie home built etc than PVW, who tend to be more about the "Scene cars" what ever that means lol !!

If your ultimate goal is just to get featured, best thing to do is try to speak to the journo's at some point, maybe at a show or something, and find out what they're looking for.

If you can, try to talk through your project plans and see if it's something they would be interested in.

its not somthin i aim for after reading them for a while i jus wish they would do features on "budget" cars and more the mk1 enthusiasts etc would love to be able to afford it but get tired of sein 400+bhp golfs an the only thing origional is the shell, dont see the point myself each to ther own tho

I did,  8O

I`ve been going to shows for years and you just get to know people, I then got to know Elliot at PVW and he said when my car is eventually finished we will get it featured.

It was then in my mates VW garage, Vagtech and a freelance photographer saw it and put me in touch with the lads at Retro Cars, (unfortunately no longer published  :( )

James from Golf + approached me at a show but i said i was going in PVW and therefore just repeating information so i declined, I see James at most shows and he always says hi.

Otherwise if you have a good story or something different to offer, drop the editor an email with pics and then let them chase you!
