Discovery Channel tv series

Hi there.

I am Duncan McAlpine, producer of Trading Up, a 6 part series on car culture around the world for the Discovery Channel. We are filming our UK episode from 7th to 18th October. We very much want to feature the Gold GTi Mark I as one of the 4 cars in the episode.

I am looking for a buyer for a nice Golf Gti who is willing to appear on screen for a few minutes talking about the car. We have an example that we want to sell. Ideally we are looking for a buyer in the Midlands but that could be quite a broad interpretation geographically!

We are also looking for some kind Golf Gti event in mid October - do owners get together on a regular basis at some particular location? It would be a chance to show off your car. Again ideally it would need to be in the middle part of the country. Anybody organising or can organise something?

Have you got some detail and pictures of the car you are looking to sell as part of the show and a price?

With regards to a Golf event you have unfortunately just missed the Mk1 Golf Annual Gathering which would have been ideal for you to attend and film.

In terms of events coming up that i think may interest you could be

(1) Malvern classic car show, this is not golf specific, but we year on year put a good show and turnout here and will have 20+ mk1 golf there i would imagine , this is on the 13th October http://www.threecounties.co.uk/eventcalendar/index.php?classic-car-autojumble-weekend

The other option would be the NEC classic car show where we will have mk1 golf owners club stand , this is 15,16,17th Nov Welcome | Classic Motor Show

failing that we could speak to the midlands regional hosts and see if we can put some sort on meet together for you

i am a big fan of wheel dealers and really enjoyed the India episodes, they were great.

Did anything come of this?  Was half expecting to see some filming at Malvern. 

They went to gti festival at santa pod.. and got wet.
