Best mag for features and info on Mk1's ????

Never bought a Golf mag until this morning when I picked up the new GOLF+ magazine. Its an ok mag I suppose but looks a bit boy racer ish to me?

Are there any mags that maily cater for the older Mk1's and have technical write ups as well as features. Also like to browse all the adverts for supplies that dont just sell shiney wheels and Lexus lights!

I currently subscribe to Classic Ford magazine so am hoping there is a similar rag for the old Golf fans??

Any sugestions…

I read the Golf+ mag last night and it does have some ok parts to it. It just grinds on me when these writers use the word "slammed". Grrrrr!!!

I notice a few ladies have written into the latest issue also. I bet it gets on your tits (pardon the pun) to see all the tits and arse on display when its supposed to be a mag about cars?? I grinds on me and I am a bloke. Of late them crappy phone sex adverts have been sneaking into Classic Ford mag, but as yet they have resisted the temptation to stick "babes" on every page. I wonder how long it lasts???

Not being a prude or anything, I would just hate to see lots of car pictures in my latest "Big Ones International", thats all… ;)

I will get hold of Performance VW this weekend and see whats what.

It's a pity that VW Motoring mag is no longer. Just as the early watercooled VWs were becoming regarded as classics it went out of production. These cars are now uncatered for whereas the aircooled is still supported by Volksworld, etc. Sad really! Your best bet for tech how to's and features is to look up back issues of VW Motoring, Volkswagen Audi Car and VW Driver. VW Driver still covers Mk1s from time to time (e.g. March 2007 issue   )

Cheers chap. My brother has a big stash so I will just rob his from him. Shame is there is nothing still on the go now though? You would think there was a market for a propper mag that just catered for the old stuff? Maybe too specialised eh?
