well he did call it the car of the century many moons ago

the fact they flood a xr3i, and the like, and all they do to a mk1 is lift the boot lid, i think its safe to say they love the car way to much to muller one, BONUS! held my breath the whole time knowing what theyre capable of!

In the episode Clarkson declared the Mk1 Gti was the final nail in the coffin for the British sports car industry  :dontknow:

I think its the one at the AGM parked next to the Mk6 it belongs the VW UK.

LMAO…I thought the same thing and then got text messages saying because of the Mk1 we now do not have any British sports car industries, what a load of Bull they were S*!T anyway….even if I am too young to remember ; )

I'm British but I now live in France so I do miss some of the Top Gear Shows and one was last Friday
does any one know what show number it was was it Series-15 Episode 3

If any finds it on You-Tube or the likes as I can not get iplayer as I live outside of the UK BBC do not
allow it and they know where your coming from through your proxy address.

Just saw an old edition of Top Gear when they test the Mk5 GTi and they had a Mk1 into which they reversed the Mk5 whilst showing it parking!

Think that it is the same mk1 in both Top gears because VW took the BBS kit off theirs car & then put mk2 Pirelli wheels on it.

Same REG but if fitted with GTi Mk2 wheels,  which were not the same,  so the Top Gear MK1 GTi does not have the same value as a Campaign in the same sort of condition but with the correct Pirelli's.

It has something to do with :
"How many "P's" round the wheel"
