Pathetic!
My insurance quotes seem to hover at about ?1900 and I really don't understand why.
This is a quote based on my renewal (in a month)
I'll be 23, driving 3 years, with 1 year no claims, 3 points (sp30)
I drive a 1986 1.8 GTi Cabby
I only paid ?2200 for the car!
How do companies even begin to see the logic behind this?
I know it's the whole no roof, old car, big engine crap, but nearly ?2k? that's mental.
Oh and it's still ?1400 third party.
I just needed a rant really.

Have you shopped around much? I just had issue that my renewal came through the other day and premium almost doubled since last year.
Rang them to check and turns out they (Norwich Union) have to manually work out classic insurance as the computer spews out too high prices. Maybe its the same thing with yours???

I shopped around a lot last year to get the best price, which was almost the same, but i didn't have any no claims, so i figured it would drop by at least a few hundred, concidering the no claims, my age and the extra years driving, this is with elephant btw.
I was thinking about classic but it's my main car, so I do a fair few miles in it.. i'm awaiting a reply from HIC, I heard they're quite reasonable?
