OOPS! My cheapest quote ever! Thanks FJ

Right, turned 25 this year so finally went for a classic insurance policy. Only problem is, I dont have a garage. So shoped around being turned down by a few comps, but finally went to Footman James. I speciffically said I have no garage, and the guy said 'no problem' you'll just pay a bit more.

The quote was a astounding ?218  8O  Seeing as how the next best quote i got with a normal policy was over 3 times that (near 750), I was pretty happy   The reason being that i live in what insurance people call one of the highest risk areas in th UK  8O What? Little old north london?

Now for the oops bit, it turns out when my papers come through that my car is stored in a Garage! So I ring them back, and the girl says that yes it should be in a garage as its a high risk area, so technically its not covered between 10pm and 6am or for theft  8O  and that the premium should be more  :evil:
To resolve this, they said they would have to listen to the tapes and see.

Ha ha, low and behold, they sent me a letter saying that yes, I did mention a number of times that i dont have a garage and that in this instance, they will insure me fully comp in a high risk area for the price i paid, with a low excess and free breakdown cover and agreed value. I'm absolutly laughing     all the way     to the bank  :wink:  gawd bless the bloke who screwed up my original quote.

Must say that FJ have the best customer service.

right, best go get that mot so i can drive it now…

Yeah it is nice to get a break after all these years of stupid premiums. I'm going to enjoy the feeling while it lasts… wont be for long.

And yes i do have the guys name but i bet hes gonna be a bit more careful now, eh? :wink:
