No claims bonus

Does anybody know if you can use existing no claims bonus on a second car. What i'm trying to say is i have 8 years NCB on my daily and wanted to know if i was able to declare that bonus on a second car or do i need to start from scratch. I've just been looking for insurance for a Gti cabrio with no NCB and its coming out at more than ?500. I'm nearly 30 and don't pay that on my passat sport  :dontknow:

No It won't be counted for a second car. You'll have to start all over again but you ought to get a reasonable quote considering you already have NCB and experience from driving another car. If I was you I would ring round for a quote, explaining your status, starting with your current insurer. They may have a discounted 2nd car policy.

Stick the cabby on a classic policy, try these guys Bishopcalway.co.uk they quoted me ?150 for my Gti cabby I'm 31 and this was agreed value as well

Footman James are worth a go too and being a member you'll be entitled to discount.

Just had a quote off ensleigh who are my insurer and who would duplicate my NCB and they quoted me ?900    8O  8O  8O  8O

Just a quick update, i've managed to get the insurance for ?210 including breakdown cover, this is from a company called Peter Best insurance and allows me 3000 miles per year. I also found another for ?350 from Brentacre insurance and that allowed me 5000 miles, they also said they didn't mind if you put some nice wheels on or coilovers and the like.
Just goes to show it pays to shop around
