New car, new insurance.. any recommendations?

Hi guys, my first car was stolen last week (Defender 90) and have decided to try an get a Mk1 with the 16v conversion.

I rang HIC/Adrian Flux and they quoted over ?3,000 for TPFT, with the standard 8v engine.

Is it me, or is that totally ridiculous? I'm 22, obviously no claims bonus any more.. and recommendations??

Sorry to hear you had your car stolen, but welcome to the world of MK1s!

I'm sure loads of people will come and give you advice re insurance. We insure through the Co op and find them really good, but we have the no claims and age to bring the cost down!

Have  a look at the membership benefits on here. There are some good savings to be made with our members discount on insurance. Well worth the 15 membership fee and you get loads of other benefits as well including discount with GSF.

Try elephant. Im paying half what i did last with them and Im 18. I know a few people who couldnt get better quotes from anywhere else
