modified classic insurance!!!?? who are you insured with?

hello!!

i've been insuring my golf with HIC for years but they want over £600 for this year which i think is steep as i only do a couple hundred miles a year. i have now turned 25 and its gone up 200 from last year with no extra claims or convictions?? my car was originally 1.1 now got a 16v in it.


anyway, just wanted to see who people are insured with? so far have tried:

sure term- wont cover my car
adrian flux- same quote as HIC (same company)
lancaster - too modified
footman james - too modified

cant get hold of peter best insurance - will they cover modified?

its killing me! seriously considering changing it back to 1.1

all sorted.

Who you go with in end? Thinking for future people to read up and see who's best.
