Modifed Car Insurance

Thinking seriously about getting a mk1 with an engine conversion.  The thing is, the V5 hasnt been changed so it is still down as a 1600.  Ive always been completely honest with insurance companies, so for me, declaring the engine conversion is important.  What are peoples views on this?  And for people that have declared the conversions, who is good to go with?

i tried adrian flux when i changed my 1.8 astra to a 2ltr turbo and they quoted me 1200 quid . i was already with elephant.co.uk so i phoned them and explained what i had done and got it for 735 quid and it had 17s full stainless exhaust, stage 3 chip, air filter etc . and im only 21 bin drivin 2 years . so dont always think specialists are gonna be the cheapest  :wink:

Brentacre are top people on modified golfs, the cheapest i could find on my GTI!
